My Review
41/2 Black Cats out of 5
First I took a quick look through the book since it is not something you have to read in order like a fiction book. I liked how it was organized under themes. That makes it easy if you are planning a specific theme at your party like vampires or Alice in Wonderland. You don't have to search through the whole book for a specific project you want to do.
I liked the theme choices. They are very halloweeny but not too niche that the normals out there couldn't enjoy the projects. I'm sure Amazon will show the table of contents if you get a free sample so you can see if the themes appeal to you. My favorite is Alice in Wonderland. I might try making the Cheshire Cat pumpkin.
I think all the projects are easy enough that anyone no matter their crafting skill could make these Halloween decorations. I'm pretty sure even school age children could make most of the projects maybe even younger children. My husband could make one of these Halloween crafts and he is not very crafty.
The only reason I didn't give Pumpkins and Party Themes 5 Black Cats is because although there are lots of images in the book of the projects you'll be making, I thought the photography could have been a bit better on some of the setups. It's not a big deal just something I thought as I was checking the book out. Also, some of the projects themselves could have looked better, maybe been cleaned up some. Again not a big deal and doesn't take away from the projects. They all still look like fun.
In the end, I do recommend this book if you are planning a themed Halloween party. It will help you, just check the contents page to see if any themes in the book match your theme, or if you are undecided about a theme it might help you come up with one. Get a copy I think you'll like it if you like Halloween.
